The Way You Look Tonight

Every now and then romance fills the air!  It was such a treat to serve at Kevin and Nichole’s country wedding  They chose the Platte River Fort for their special day and it was truly a night to remember.  The evening was filled with family, friends, boot stomping music and lots of unexpected details.  The boys wore suspenders and hats while the girls carried antique pins within their bouquets.  Nichole’s gown was an antique rose and it simply glowed during our sunset portrait session.  It was fun including off-camera lighting to create just the right atmosphere.  Such fun to tell their story.  May your new life together be filled with surprises and adventure.  Best wishes for many more special memories.

Isn’t She Lovely!

Weddings include so many details.  The right dress, perfect tux, flowers that fit the personality and time of year… Ultimately, everything showcases the bride and groom.  Merceda and Joe made certain that all of the details were covered.  The golf course was a great backdrop for the boys as they enjoyed a game before lunch…

Wedding Bliss

What a treat!  Laura and Cory chose the Platte River Fort in northern Colorado as a backdrop for their wedding vows.  I describe this venue as country elegance.  It includes barn doors, twinkle lights, bronze and granite accents.  It matched Laura and Cory’s style perfectly!  The sky was overcast, so everything was moved inside of…

Tiny Dancer

Little girls are so much fun to photograph.  It is even more fun when I get to play dress-up with them.  Baby Mason was a wonderful sport.  We had several wardrobe changes, different props and she powered through.  It probably helped that her mommy and daddy were close by with fun distractions. My favorite outfit…

By the Sea, by the Sea, by the Beautiful Sea

By the Sea, by the Sea, by the Beautiful Sea

My husband and I are enamored with the beauty of the Caribbean and the Mexican Rivera.  So much so, that we have taken over a dozen trips to this corner of the world.  The warm tropical climate, iridescent turquoise water, slow and relaxing life-style, gracious hosts, fresh seafood and exceptional resorts– all accessible within a…

I Do… Cherish You.

It was such a treat working with this amazing couple! Kaylee and Mark chose our Colorado Rocky Mountains as the backdrop to their engagement session last week and we had a ball.  Planning ahead is the best way to ensure a successful shoot. In preparation for our day, we met last week to discuss different…

Oh… the Weather Outside is Delightful!

How many times have you thought, “Wow.  I would love a new    ____________ (fill the the blank–head shot/family/senior/engagement) portrait, but I need to wait until the landscape turns green, or yellow, or orange…”  Believe it or not, portraits done in the winter months are stunning!  The colors in the sky are softer as are the…

Take Time to Breathe

I was recently given the opportunity for reflection.  I temporarily stepped away from one of my professional career tracks and have been blessed with perspective.  What IS important?  A paycheck, prestige and prominence, family, health, compassion, taking time for self and others?  Who am I? When working as an educator over 25 years ago, I…

Presidential Headshot

I had the distinct privilege to work with a gentleman and his wife recently.  Bill and Sylvia are cultured, classy, and humble.  I consider it an honor to be within their circle of friends.  Bill was recently awarded with a distinction and his family asked me to take his professional head shot for the official…

Wow. Not quite an Iphone!

I wish that I had an extra $50 for every client who said the above phrase.  Sometimes they preface it by saying, “Wish I had known about you BEFORE my son’s (wedding/graduation/family session)… You can fill in the blanks.  I don’t say this to brag.  I simply want to emphasize the difference between a custom…
